A fantastic morning at the annual White Rose Junior League saw our ‘A’ & ‘B’ teams complete a 1 – 2 finish for the second consecutive year.
The ‘A’ team claimed 32 1st place finishes, including the canon, and progress to the Northern Final with 370 points, having seen off the challenge from City of Sheffield (160), Doncaster Dartes (260), and our very own ‘B’ Team (267), who did an amazing job of stealing points from the other teams to finish overall second in the competition. Well done everyone, it was a tense and amazing experience.
Final standings
- City of Leeds ‘A’ 370
- City of Leeds ‘B’ 267
- Doncaster Dartes 260
- City of Sheffield 260
- Bo Kirklees 241
- Skipton 146
- Harrogate 135
The next round of the Junior League is the Northern Final which will be held on Sunday 6th October at John Charles Aquatics Centre. This is our tenth year in the competition, which we won four years in a row from 2010 to 2013, and then twice more in 2017 and 2018. It would be great to storm through the next round and get the trophy back to Leeds again by winning the National Final in Corby on 24th November.
Thanks to David Broome and Vicki Spencer for officiating, as well as a huge thank you to our fantastic team managers on the day (Kim Mathias, Meron Gebre, Harvey McGreavy-Gill & Sam Goodison).
Also a big shout out to all those parents who made the effort to wear team colours and join in the fun by wearing wigs and face paint. Great job! Hopefully you can top it at the Northern Final.
